Apartment block in Costa Adeje evacuated due to fire

A residential complex in Playa Paraíso, in the south of Tenerife, was evacuated last night (Sunday) after a fire broke out at the Marina Palace apartments, opposite the Rosa Centre shopping mall, at around 11pm.

Residents alerted the emergency services, who dispatched the fire brigade to the location given, where fire fighters started to battle the flames to control and extinguish the blaze.

The fire affected one apartment in the building and the Local Police evacuated all inhabitants to ensure their safety. As of now, no injuries have been reported.

In addition to firefighter’s efforts, all access roads to Playa Paraíso were closed to facilitate emergency operations. The Guardia Civil were also on-site, assisting with emergency response, and an SUC ambulance was deployed as a precautionary measure.

Once the blaze was under control the local police allowed residents whose apartments were not impacted by the fire or smoke to return to them. However, those living on the uppermost floors of the building, known as 'La Buhardilla,' are still unable to access their homes.
