Cloud and rain forecast for western Canary Islands this Friday
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has forecast overcast skies across the Canary Islands for today, Friday, with a likelihood of rain developing in Tenerife and the western parts of the archipelago later in the day.
Maritime conditions will see westerly or south-westerly winds at force 2 to 4 in the northern and southern coastal areas, and variable winds at force 1 to 3 elsewhere. The far northwest is expected to shift from variable winds at force 2 or 3 to southerly or south-westerly winds strengthening to force 3 or 4 by morning. Seas will be smooth to slightly rough, with a westward swell of between 1 and 2 metres, easing to around 1 metre by the end of the day. Occasional morning showers are also expected offshore.

LANZAROTE
Predominantly cloudy skies. Minimum temperatures will remain stable, while maximum temperatures will fall slightly, particularly in the eastern part of the island. Light southerly winds.

FUERTEVENTURA
Cloudy skies with a prevalence of high cloud cover in the southern half of the island. Minimum temperatures largely unchanged; maximums will see a slight drop, especially in the north. Light winds from the south.

GRAN CANARIA
Partly cloudy skies with mostly high clouds, becoming more overcast in the southern and western areas by the afternoon. There is a low chance of light, scattered rain during the early morning hours. Temperatures will remain steady, though a slight rise in maximums is expected in mid-altitude northeastern areas. Southerly winds will be occasionally strong on exposed slopes.
Forecast temperatures: Min 18°C, Max 24°C.
TENERIFE
Partly to mostly cloudy skies, particularly in the northern and western regions. A low chance of light, scattered rain is forecast for the northeast and eastern slopes, mainly during the early morning and late afternoon. Temperatures will show little change. South-westerly winds will pick up throughout the morning, becoming occasionally strong by the afternoon in the southeast and at higher elevations.
