Landmar Hotels, which operates two four-star properties in Playa de La Arena and Los Gigantes in Tenerife, has launched free transport for staff, offering daily coaches to ease commuting and improve work-life balance for its employees.
The hotel group now operates two dedicated coach services serving a total of 75 staff members. The northern route connects Icod de Los Vinos, El Tanque and Tamaimo with the hotels, while the southern route runs from San Isidro to Guaza, then through to Santiago del Teide.
The move follows a similar pilot scheme introduced by the hotel association in Costa Adeje last year, which ran successfully for eight months and significantly improved commuting conditions for hotel workers in the area.
Employees have welcomed the new service, saying it has made their daily journeys more manageable and strengthened their sense of connection to a company focused on staff welfare.
In a further move to support its workforce, Landmar Hotels has opened a new office in Santa Cruz. The satellite office is designed to reduce commute times for administrative staff based in the metropolitan area, giving employees more flexibility in where they live.
Juan Pedro Marrero, Director of HR at Landmar Hotels, said the changes reflect the company's commitment to its employees: “The pride of belonging, fostered through work environment connection and work-life balance, is why we've decided to establish a new office in Santa Cruz. This offers all the talent residing near the metropolitan area this opportunity.”
The initiative comes as part of a broader strategy by Landmar to improve the quality of life for employees, many of whom face lengthy commutes from across the island to Santiago del Teide. The company says its long-term goal is to create a more accessible, efficient and employee-focused work environment.
