After a distressing 11-week search, Naia, the cat that went missing at Tenerife North Airport in late March, has been found alive and well. In a post on social media platform X, Rocío Bienert, sister of Naia's owner, shared that "Naia was found by runway workers a few days ago."
The saga began when Rocío and her brother Álvaro were preparing to fly from Tenerife North to Madrid in March, but shortly before their flight, Naia disappeared whilst in the airline’s possession.
Despite trying to find him and asking for help from Iberia staff, it was later discovered that Naia had managed to escape from her transport box and was nowhere to be seen.
However, after a stressful 11 weeks, the airport contacted her to give the great news that Naia had been found safe and well by runway workers at Tenerife North Airport. The family is now focusing on reuniting Naia with them and ensuring her safe transport to Madrid.
