A 23-year-old male biker is in critical condition in hospital after suffering a serious motorcycle accident in Tenerife. The incident took place on the TF-465 road, in the Vera de Erques area of Guía de Isora in the south of the island.
The emergency services were alerted at 1:00pm on Saturday when a call came in to the Canary Islands’ Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES), reporting that a motorcyclist had fallen and was in urgent need of medical assistance.
SUC paramedics and local primary care teams arrived to find the rider with multiple traumatic injuries and in cardiac arrest. They began advanced life support and CPR at the scene, assisted by firefighters, who helped treat the young man.
Once his condition was stabilised and he was immobilised, the motorcyclist was transported by ambulance, accompanied by medical staff, to the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where he was admitted in a critical state.
Local police also attended the scene and are carrying out the necessary investigation into the cause of the accident.
