A 'drug supermarket' is raided in a house in Gran Canaria

Police in Santa Lucía de Tirajana have dismantled a 'drug supermarket' that operated from a home in Vecindario in the south east of Gran Canaria, and arrested the four residents of the house, two men aged 34 and 26 and two women 36 and 57 for drug dealing.

A press release from the National Police details how the investigation began in November when they learned of the possibility of the sale of narcotics from a property in Calle Taganana in the town.

Following this, a joint investigation with the Local Police was initiated that allowed the uncovering of an authentic ‘drug supermarket' in an address from which its four residents allegedly provided all kinds of substances to people who went there.

After getting a court order, a search of the property was carried out, in which 3.4 kilos of hashish, 1,776 doses of crack, 42 ​​grams of heroin, 4.7 grams of cocaine, and 3,671 euros in cash were seized, as well as expensive jewellery, watches and electronic devices. Also three of those arrested, a woman and the two men, had up 12 vehicles in their names despite not having any known type of work activity.

Finally, once the corresponding police report had been issued, all the detainees were made available to the competent Judicial Authority for sentencing.
