The Ministry of Health today reports of 212 new cases of coronavirus in the Canary Islands. The total accumulated cases has now reached 40,437 with 5,679 active, of which 78 are admitted to ICU and 262 remain hospitalized. In the last 24 hours, there has only been one Covid related death reported, that of a 72-year-old man in Gran Canaria, with previous pathologies and who was in hospital.
The Accumulated Incidence rate at 7 days for the Islands has gone up again since yesterday, and now stands at 56.33 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and over 14 days is 105.97.
By islands, Gran Canaria has added the most new cases again with 87, but also has had the most recoveries of 199, meaning that active cases on the islands have dropped again to 2,882. In the meantime Tenerife’s have increased slightly with 76 new cases and only 47 people discharged.
