The National Police have arrested three fugitives in Tenerife wanted by Hungarian authorities for serious crimes, following a month-long investigation. The arrests were made possible through international cooperation facilitated by the European Network of Fugitive Search Teams (ENFAST), and a coordinated effort between Spanish and Hungarian authorities.
After receiving an international request for assistance, Spanish police swiftly launched an investigation, which led to the identification and location of the fugitives, classed as “dangerous”, all of whom were residing in the south of Tenerife.
The police operation resulted in the apprehension of the three men, who face sentences ranging from three to eight years in Hungary. One of the fugitives is accused of being part of an organised criminal network involved in human trafficking, while the second faces charges of robbery with force and drug trafficking. The third fugitive is wanted for multiple counts of armed robbery.
The detainees have been taken into police custody and are now awaiting judicial proceedings to begin their extradition process, according to an official press release from the National Police headquarters.
