More traffic changes in Tenerife south due to works in Las Chafiras

The Cabildo have warned that there are more traffic diversions in Las Chafiras in the south of Tenerife, until next Friday (21st June) due to the next phase of the roadworks for the third lane of the TF-1 motorway between San Isidro and Las Americas.

These works will be taking place on the roundabout and approach roads (TF-65) on the northern carriageway side of the motorway as follows:

- The construction of a new wall on the left slip road means a reorganisation of traffic on the current roundabout.

- New barriers are being installed, they are transplanting trees, demolishing curbs on the roundabouts, removing topsoil and, finally, paving.

- Current signage will be modified and part of the current roundabout will be left out of service.

The work will be carried out in five phases:

Phase 1: Today, June 13th, work will be done on the lower part of the roundabout, the part closest to the coast.

Phase 2: On June 14th, work will be done on the island closest to the bridge.

Phase 3: On June 17th and 18th, work will be done on the old TF-655 in front of the El Paso Shopping Centre.

Phase 4: On June 19th, work will be done on the roundabout island in the connection with the old TF-655.

Phase 5: On June 20th and 21st, the entire detour will be put into service.

On the first day of each phase, it will be paved and on the second the horizontal signage will be painted.

It is important to remember that there will be specific diversions in different areas for the movement of construction machinery and the placement of vertical signage.
