A report commissioned by the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, has revealed that the islands should be entitled to a discount of 14 cents per litre of fuel, to alleviate the price difference of petrol and diesel in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura compared to the rest of the province, particularly Gran Canaria.
The president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, confirmed this yesterday, Monday, saying: "It is something highly demanded by the citizens of Lanzarote, La Graciosa, and Fuerteventura, that the excess of the fuel price paid on these three islands be discounted.”
“The President of the Canary Islands Government (Fernando Clavijo) hinted at it last week, and I have to congratulate the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote for the responsibility they are demonstrating," pointing out that the report commissioned to a consulting firm demonstrates that "results show that we are entitled to 14 cents per litre discount, and I think it's great news."
