In a sombre turn of events, the emergency services have reported that they have found the lifeless body of a man on Charcos de la Araña beach in the municipality of Los Silos, Tenerife, believed to be the man who went missing on Saturday along the El Sauzal coast.
A coordinated search effort has been underway since Saturday, to locate a man who fell into the sea due to rough waves at Playa Rojas beach whilst on rocks with a 12-year-old boy thought to be a family member.
According to eyewitness reports, the adult had collided with rocks when swept into the sea by a large wave, while the boy managed to swim away from the breaking waves and was successfully rescued by emergency services.
The ongoing investigation aims to determine the identity of the recovered body and shed light on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
