Man’s body found in sea near Tenerife beach

The body of a man was recovered from the sea at Las Teresitas beach in Santa Cruz de Tenerife this morning, (Friday).

A member of the public alerted the Local Police after spotting the body partially submerged near the northern opening of the beach’s breakwater.

A police patrol attended and notified the Canary Islands’ 112 emergency coordination centre, which mobilised additional emergency resources.

Officers entered the water and brought the man’s body to the shore, where they awaited the arrival of the other emergency services.

The man’s identity and age have not been made public. The circumstances surrounding his death have also not been disclosed, and there is currently no confirmation of how he came to be in the water.
