A mum-to-be has launched an appeal to find her baby’s dad, before the tot is born, after getting pregnant from a boozy one-night stand on a beach in Tenerife after a night out in Veronicas. Sarah-Jayne Snow from East Lothian in Scotland went home from her holiday with a lot more than just duty-free and a suntan, after discovering she was pregnant.
Sarah said she was "very drunk" and had "a one-night stand" with a younger man on the beach. “I know that he was 19 years old”, she said, “We didn’t swap telephone numbers and I can’t remember his name, all I can remember is that he works at the Braehead shopping centre in Glasgow.”
She stressed that the encounter was "consensual between two drunken adults" and that phone numbers were not exchanged on purpose, although everything changed when she learned of her status: "When I found out I was pregnant I knew I had to try to find him. I can take care of my son alone, but I don't want him to feel like he doesn't know who his father is. All I want is for his dad and his family to know so that if they want to participate, they can."
The incident happened on August 5th last year when the young woman was on holiday in Playa de Las Americas, in the south of Tenerife, and met the father of her son on a night out. “He was 19 years old and I was 29, at first I didn't want anything with him, but we ended up having sex. Now I just want him to know what happened, that he's going to be a father. I’m not asking him for anything, but he has the right to know.”
"I won’t lose hope of finding him, so he knows that he will soon have a child, and that this little boy knows, in the future, who his father is". However, she says that it has been very difficult to locate him and claims that trolls say he is hiding from her.
