The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has activated a yellow weather warning in the Canary Islands for adverse coastal phenomena and dangerous sea conditions, which will particularly affect Lanzarote and La Palma today Friday, and the rest of the islands over the weekend.
In today's weather forecast, clouds and light rain are forecast in the more mountainous islands during the first half of the day. Other areas are expected to be cloudy but will clear this afternoon and occasional showers are not ruled out in the north of Lanzarote.
Also, there are no changes in temperatures expected compared to yesterday, with lows of 21°C and highs of 26°C.
Weather warning for Storm Ciaran:
The State Meteorological Agency has issued a special alert for winds, maritime storms, and rain across the whole of mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands which are being affected by another Atlantic front, Storm Ciaran.
This storm is bringing heavy rain, intense winds and significant storms to the Iberian Peninsula, and the Canary Islands are likely to catch the tail end of it, which is what is causing the sea conditions that AEMET are warning about.
