The latest data from the Ministry of Health reports of 82 new cases of coronavirus in the Canary Islands today, with 45 in Tenerife, 25 in Gran Canaria, 5 in Lanzarote, 5 in Fuerteventura, 2 in La Palma, and none in La Gomera or El Hierro.
Active cases have increased again, as there are only 10 people medically discharged, to 853 with 62 Covid patients in wards, 18 in ICU, and 773 in home isolation. They have also reported the death of an 83-year-old man in Tenerife who was in intensive care because of the virus.
Both incidence rates over 7 and 14 days have increased to 23.35 and 38.70, with Lanzarote having the two highest with an IA7 of 37.87, whereas all other islands are currently below 25, and an IA14 of 50.06, whereas all other islands are currently below 50.
