Covid update: 461 new cases over the weekend in the Canary Islands

The Ministry of Health have reported 461 new cases of coronavirus in the Canary Islands this weekend with 235 yesterday and 226 today, which has seen active cases now go above 2,500 and incidence rates increase to 73.26 over 7 days and 126.38 over 14 days. They have also confirmed one more Covid related death in Tenerife.

Of the new cases 102 are in Gran Canaria, 85 are in Tenerife, Lanzarote has 19, Fuerteventura 13, and 7 in La Palma. As always at the weekend, the number of people discharged is low with only 43 of the more than 2,300 in home isolation have been given the all clear to be allowed out again.
