Covid update: The Canaries registers 5 deaths and 140 new cases
The Ministry of Health has updated their coronavirus data and informs of 140 new cases in the Canary Islands today, of which 102 were in Tenerife, 28 were in Gran Canaria, 2 in El Hierro, 1 in La Palma, and none in La Gomera. Fuerteventura’s and Lanzarote’s figures have had to be adjusted as 22 cases from the gym outbreak in Arrecife, were wrongly put on Fuerteventura’s data. So today they have -22 cases and Lanzarote has 29.
After 217 people were medically discharged today, there are 2,559 active cases in the Canary Islands with 2,255 in home isolation, 240 in hospital wards, and 64 Covid patients in ICU, which is five less than yesterday and unfortunately coincides with 5 Covid related deaths in the last 24 hours, three in Gran Canaria and two in Tenerife.
