A man has died after his car overturned and caught fire on the FV-10 road in La Oliva, Fuerteventura, on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency services were alerted to the crash at around 3:20pm, according to the Canary Islands emergency coordination centre (CECOES). Paramedics from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) were dispatched to the scene but could only confirm the death of the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Firefighters from La Oliva's fire and rescue team extinguished the blaze and secured the area, while Local Police and the Guardia Civil assisted and have opened an investigation into the incident.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
