Covid update: 40 new cases and no deaths as data continues to be good

The epidemiological data for the Canary Islands continues to be good for all the islands with a continued drop in incidence rates, especially over 14 days as that one takes longer to decrease because of the time scale, although other parameters downward trend have slowed.

The number of active cases has been around 900 for a few days now as there haven’t been many people discharged due to the ’14 day cycle’ that you have from testing positive to release after testing negative. This means that over the next few days there should be a sharp increase in those released from home isolation seeing a drop in active cases again, as long as new cases stay low.

Of yesterdays new cases 26 were in Tenerife, 11 in Gran Canaria, 2 in Fuerteventura, 1 in Lanzarote, with none in La Palma, El Hierro, or La Gomera. Incidence rates for the islands remain low at 16.59 over 7 days and 38.51 over 14 days.
