Covid update: Active cases drop below 1,000; will Tenerife move to Level 1 tomorrow?

In tomorrow afternoon's review of the epidemiological data in the Governing Council meeting, Tenerife is expected to go down to alert level 1 for coronavirus due to the downward trend of the island’s data, something that the people of Tenerife have not experienced since February of this year.

In general terms, the restrictions would be relaxed considerably, to such an extent that the capacity would become 100% outdoors, with 75% indoors. Meetings of a maximum of 12 people are also allowed, whether in private, public, or sitting together in bars restaurants (inside or outside), and closing times, depending on licences, of 3am.

However, people are reminded that at none of the levels decreed by the Canary Islands Government are dancing, festivals, concerts, or mass events allowed.

The update of today’s data reports of 57 new cases in the islands, and two deaths. Active cases are below 1,000 at 996 with 101 Covid patients in hospital wards, 28 in ICU, and 867 people in home isolation.
