A 66-year-old woman died yesterday (Monday) after being rescued from the water in the natural pools of La Jaquita in Alcalá (Guía de Isora), as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The incident occurred at 11:40am which is when the 1-1-2 emergency call centre received an alert that lifeguards had retrieved a woman from the water who was in cardiac arrest, and were administering CPR to try and revive her.
CECOES immediately activated the necessary emergency resources, including two ambulances, a doctor and a nurse from the Alcalá Health Centre, as well as Local Police and the Guardia Civil.
Upon arrival, the medical personnel continued both basic and advanced resuscitation manoeuvres but unfortunately could not do anything to save the life of the affected woman and could only certify her death at the scene of the incident.
