Three people were injured in the early hours of this morning (Sunday) after the car they were travelling in overturned following a collision with a parked vehicle in Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote.

The accident happened at around 4:50am in Calle Los Cabezos, prompting an emergency response from firefighters based at both the South and Central stations of the Lanzarote Emergency and Safety Consortium.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, all three occupants were trapped inside the overturned vehicle. Despite the severity of the crash, they were initially reported to be in an apparently stable condition, although one person had suffered cuts to their hands.

After stabilising the vehicle, firefighters carried out a rescue operation to safely free the occupants from the wreckage. All three were then treated by paramedics before being taken to the Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital for further assessment.

Once the occupants had been safely removed and the scene was secured, emergency crews brought the operation to a close. The circumstances surrounding the collision have not yet been confirmed.
