The Canary Islands will see a mix of cloud, showers and brighter spells today, Tuesday 3rd November, as the unsettled weather begins to ease.
The smaller western islands face the highest risk of heavy rain early in the day, while showers and possible thunderstorms may develop over Tenerife and Gran Canaria later.
Lanzarote and Fuerteventura should have more sunshine, although an isolated shower remains possible.
Weather alerts update
AEMET’s orange rain warnings for La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro are due to end at 6.00am. Yellow rain warnings are scheduled to continue across the islands until 9.00pm tonight, with yellow thunderstorm warnings in place from 10.00am to 9.00pm.
The Canary Islands Government’s latest update keeps rain alerts in place for La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro, and pre-alerts for Tenerife and Gran Canaria. A pre-alert means authorities are monitoring the situation and advising the public to follow updates; it is a different status from an alert.
Island-by-island forecast

Cloud will be more persistent over northern Tenerife and inland areas. Showers, locally heavy and possibly accompanied by thunder, are forecast later in the day before conditions start to clear. Across resort areas including Playa de las Américas, Los Cristianos and Puerto de la Cruz, temperatures are forecast to range between 19–24°C.

Variable cloud and the chance of a passing shower are forecast, with the south of the island, including the Jandía area, among the places to watch. It should become brighter later. Temperatures in Corralejo and Costa Calma are forecast to be around between 20°C and 27°C.
