The search for two missing teenagers in Gran Canaria extends to the coast of Tenerife

The search for Alejandro and Yassine, the two missing teenagers aged 16 and 17 years old who disappeared on March 8th while fishing in the El Confital area of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, has extended to the south of Tenerife.

As reported by the Superior Headquarters of the National Police in the Canary Islands this afternoon (Monday), the new focus of the search operation has been centred on the southeastern coast of Tenerife, from Abades to El Medano, as it is suspected that they may have been swept towards that area by the currents.

The search involves aerial resources including drones, an Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) helicopter, Guardia Civil maritime units, and judicial police.

It is now ten days since the boy’s fishing rods and mobile phones were found on the rocks that they were last seen fishing off. It is believed that a large wave may have washed them into the water as they haven’t been seen or heard from since.
