A male tourist required medical attention after being struck by a wave while in the sea at Playa de Troya in Costa Adeje, in the south of Tenerife, resulting in moderate leg injuries.
The incident happened yesterday (Sunday) as reported by the Emergencies Services Coordination Centre when the beach lifeguard alerted them that they had rescued a swimmer who had been hit by the waves and needed medical assistance.
SUC medical personnel were dispatched to the beach where they assessed and provided assistance to the man, before transferring him to hospital for further treatment.
CECOES want to remind people that the islands are still under yellow alerts for adverse coastal phenomena and strong waves, and for people to use caution if going into the sea.
