Man rescued on a Costa Adeje Beach in critical condition after drowning

A 73-year-old man has been rescued this morning (Sunday) from the waters off the south coast of Tenerife with signs of drowning, and he has been transferred to a hospital in critical condition after emergency services successfully restored his pulse.

The Emergency Services Coordination Centre have reported that the man was rescued by lifeguards on Ajabo Beach in Callao Salvaje at around 10:45am and dispatched the relevant resources to the beach.

Medical personnel performed both basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) manoeuvres at the scene, successfully restoring the man's pulse.

Once stabilized, he was urgently transported in critical condition to the Hospiten Sur University Hospital in Playa Las Americas for urgent care. The incident highlights the swift response and crucial efforts of the emergency services in rescuing and providing life-saving measures to distressed individuals.
