Man dies after falling down a ravine in Gran Canaria

A 59-year-old man was killed yesterday (Friday) after falling into the Lezcano ravine in the Tostón neighbourhood of Teror (Gran Canaria). The incident occurred while he was installing a fence around a property, as reported by the Guardia Civil.

The man only fell from a height of two metres, but then his body rolled down the slope into an area difficult to access due to the challenging terrain, so a helicopter was used to airlift him to the Doctor Negrín University Hospital in Las Palmas.

According to the Guardia Civil, the exact cause of death will be determined by the autopsy, as it is currently unknown whether he experienced a loss of consciousness or slipped, leading to his fall.

The incident was reported to the police at 9:50am yesterday morning, and subsequently, they will carry out the necessary procedures to determine what happened, and the corresponding documentation will be forwarded to the duty court.
