Drug dealing taxi driver arrested for selling cocaine to customers

Agents of the Local Police have arrested a taxi driver after catching him selling narcotic substances, apparently cocaine, in the Guanarteme neighbourhood of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, according to an official police report released today.

While on a standard patrol, the two policemen saw the taxi pull up on the corner of a street in Guanarteme, and then money was exchanged from the vehicle for a small package which appeared to be a ‘wrap’ containing drugs.

Taking the number of the taxi, the officers called for support to intercept the vehicle which happened on Calle Mariucha by a GOIA-UE unit, who searched the vehicle due to the suspicion of drugs and found 14 transparent plastic packages containing cocaine, two mobile phones, and 250 euros in bills and coins.

The taxi was immobilized and taken to the municipal deposit for judicial disposition, while the agents arrested and took the driver to the police station and charged him before handing him over to the judicial authorities where he is awaiting trial.
