Covid update: Canaries starts the week with 659 new cases and two deaths

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health, the Canary Islands have started the week with 659 new cases of coronavirus today, which takes the total number of accumulated cases in the Islands 278,729 since the pandemic began, with 15,767 active, of which 53 are admitted to ICU and 340 are hospitalized. In the last 24 hours, the death of two people has been reported in Tenerife, both had previous pathologies and were already hospitalized.

The incidence rates have stabilised over the last few days haven’t gone down for the islands as a whole, and are now at 267.70 cases per 100,000 inhabitants over 7 days, and 527.22 cases over 14 days. Some individual islands have dropped slightly as you can see below.

Gran Canaria has added the most new cases today with 376 followed by Tenerife with 194, Fuerteventura with 44, Lanzarote with 33, La Palma has 11, El Hierro 1, and La Gomera has no new cases in the last 24 hours.
