Drivers on the LZ-2 highway were concerned this morning by huge black smoke that was bellowing out of the Lanzarote airport believing there was a fire, and some calling the emergency services to report it.
However, the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) have confirmed that the smoke was from a fire drill at the airport and posed no danger to the public or to aircraft taking off or landing.
As you can see in this video from Lancelot Digital, people were concerned about the possible repercussions of the fire, which is why they recorded it, but fortunately, everything was safely under control.
