The lifeless body of a man was found yesterday morning (Saturday) inside a vehicle that had somehow ended up at the bottom of the Barranco de Manguía, in the municipality of Teguise, in Lanzarote, as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The alarm was raised by a hiker who called the 1-1-2 emergency call centre at 7:45am, to inform them that there was a car that looked as though it had crashed into the ravine.
CECOES immediately dispatched the necessary resources to the location given, where firemen ventured into the ravine to make sure that the vehicle was secured, which is when they found the dead man inside.
After retrieving it from the car, medical personnel certified his death and then the Guardia Civil took responsibility until the judicial authorities gave permission for it to be taken for autopsy to officially identify the man and determine the cause of his death.
