350,000 people have now requested a vaccination appointment online

Over 350,000 residents of the Canary Islands have now requested an appointment to be vaccinated against the Covid via the online form which was activated by the Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands last Monday, May 24th. This service of the Canary Islands Health Service (SCS) is complemented with calls made and received from 012 and through SMS messages.

Most of the requests were made during the first 24 hours of the launch of the website, when a total of 100,000 people registered, according to health sources.

On the other hand, those over 50 years of age living in the Canary Islands can now make an appointment to get vaccinated by calling 012 (or 928 301 012 or 922 470 012).

The rest of the population, aged between 16 and 49, can only make their appointments through the web form at www.canariassevacuna.com where they can fill in their full name, DNI or NIE number, and mobile phone number, and the health authorities will do the rest. In addition you can download the MiCita Previa App and see your vaccination date in there after registration.

Vaccination campaign progress:
According to latest data, the SCS have now immunized 346,682 people with the full schedule of authorized vaccines against Covid, which is 18.53% of the target population of the archipelago (1,871,033 people).

Also, there are now 795,711 people who have received at least one dose of the vaccine in the Canary Islands, that is, 42.53% of the target population.

Up until yesterday, the Canarian Health Service inoculated 24,037 doses of vaccines meaning that in total they have administered 1,110,053 doses of the 1,268,250 received, which represents 87.5% of those delivered to the Canary Islands.

Latest updates show that in group 5, made up of people over 65 years of age, there are already 200,474 people who have received both doses, which is 70.35% of the total to be vaccinated, while 281,886 have received at least one dose, which is 98.9%.

100% of group 3 have had one dose and 28.9% have had two doses; and group 6, made up of 66,000 people which includes teachers, firefighters and policemen, 65.4% have been vaccinated. In this group there are many peopleunder 60 years of age whose vaccination was halted due to the suspension of the administration of the AstraZeneca vaccine, but now they are catching up again.

Group 7, which includes the population under 60 years of age at risk of suffering from severe Covid-19, has 11,813 people who have been vaccinated with one dose, 73.8% of the target.

On the other hand, there are 109,328 people in group 8 between 60 and 65 years of age who have received one dose, which represents 71.7% of that group; while 54.7% of those in group 9, those between 50 and 59 years old, have already received one dose, representing a total of 144,015 people inoculated.

In addition, in group 10, which includes people between 40 and 49 years old, there are already 20,578 people vaccinated, 6.39% of the target population in this age group.
