A 73-year-old man arrested for cocaine possession in south Tenerife

Agents of the National Police, who are part of a department to prevent the consumption and sale of narcotic substances (the UPR), have arrested a 73-year-old man in the south of Tenerife, with a previous police record, after stopping his car and finding he was in possession of cocaine.

When they identified the driver of the car, an elderly Italian man who was heading towards the San Telmo area of Los Cristianos, they were struck by the fact that, amidst signs of nervousness, he was trying to hide an object in the area of ​​his waist.

Due to him acting suspiciously they made a search of his car and personal effects and found a medicine bottle that he was effectively hiding in his clothes. Inside it, they found more than 10 grams of cocaine divided into 5 small bags, part of them prepared for sale.

Based on their findings, the national police officers proceeded to arrest the man and take him, along with the drugs, to the police station in Playa Las Americas, where after making an official statement; the arrested man was handed over to the competent judicial authority.
