Fuerteventura will host the Canary Islands Tourism Awards for the first time, bringing representatives of the tourism industry from across the archipelago to Puerto del Rosario.

The 2026 awards ceremony will take place at the Palacio de Formación y Congresos at 8:00pm tomorrow.

This year's awards attracted 102 nominations, the highest number since the awards began, across six categories covering tourism excellence, career achievement, sustainable employment, innovation, accessibility and inclusion, and sustainable destinations.

Fuerteventura will have particular reason to celebrate, with Bodegas Conatvs in La Oliva receiving the Tourism Excellence Award.

The winery was recognised for combining wine production, sustainability and visitor experiences, helping develop wine tourism on an island better known internationally for its beaches and year-round climate.

Fuerteventura hotelier and businessman Carlos Cebriá will receive the Tourism Career Award following 50 years in the industry and his contribution to developing the island's high-end tourism sector. 

Other winners include Landmar Hotels for Sustainable Employment, Ecofinca Nogales for Innovation and Tenerife-based Asociación Anchieta for Accessibility and Inclusion.

La Palma has been named Sustainable Tourism Destination.

The ceremony itself will have a distinctly Fuerteventura theme, with staging inspired by the island's landscape, including its stone, sand, wind, light, horizon and sea.
