Hunt for Anna and Olivia Day 25: Boat found adrift in Caribbean could be linked

25 days have passed since the disappearance of little Anna and Olivia, presumably at the hands of their father Tomás Gimeno, in Tenerife. The case is still full of unknowns, but investigators think that a boat found adrift by the island of Montserrat near the Dominic Republic could be connected to the case.

One of the theories of the Guardia Civil special agents in charge of the search is that, on board a sailboat, Gimeno could have taken the girls to the Caribbean, a route made easier by the marine currents that have their origin in the Canaries. At the moment nothing more is known on this line of enquiry.

They are also investigating a ‘package’ that Tomas Gimeno reportedly sent on the day they disappeared. The Antena 3 TV program, Espejo Público, revealed this morning (Friday) that the girls' father sent a package on the day of Anna and Olivia's disappearance, but the questions being investigated are what was in it, and where was it sent to?

Meanwhile, the Guardia Civil has ended the search of the house and finca belonging to Tomas Gimeno with specialist sniffer dogs. An official press release says that they found no conclusive evidence at the location. However, agents assigned to the case took soil samples from the disturbed dirt that will now be carefully analyzed in a laboratory looking for clues.

Following this, Junca and Bill, have been inspecting Tomás's Audi car, which was dumped at the Santa Cruz marina, and his speed boat which has now been taken out of the water after traces of blood were found on it. Nothing has transpired about the result of such investigations for now, beyond the fact that there is no record of revelations of great significance for the case, but investigators don’t want to leave any loose ends.
