The National Police increases the number of officers on duty for Halloween night

The National Police have confirmed that they are increasing the number of agents on duty this evening for Halloween, after a busy weekend in which many nighttime venues celebrated early, and because of the bank holiday tomorrow.

In the capitals of Tenerife and Gran Canaria, an extra 100 agents will be deployed from specialized units including the UIP (Police Intervention Unit), UPR (Prevention and Reaction Unit), GOR (Operative Response Group), the Canine Division, Undercover Unit, Air support (helicopters and drones), in addition to those of the GAC.

They have also issued some safety tips for Halloween night:

- Only carry what is strictly necessary and never lose sight of your belongings.

- If you use a vehicle, do not leave any object in sight when it is parked.

- Protect your electronic devices, bags, and wallets at all times, especially when in large crowds.

- Be especially careful when withdrawing money from ATMs, chancers will try to distract you to take your money.

- For any incident, contact the police officers on duty or by calling 091.
