OFFICIAL: 12 to 17 year olds can now come on holiday to the Canary Islands

The Spanish Government has confirmed this morning (Friday), that they have altered the requirements for entry to Spain for people over 12 and under 18 years of age from countries outside the European Union or the Schengen area, where access to Covid vaccines for this age group presents difficulties or is not yet possible.

From 00.00h on Monday, February 14th, travellers between 12 and 17 years of age from these countries, including the UK, who are not fully vaccinated, will be able to present a negative PCR test result, performed 72 hours before, to enter the country, including the Canary Islands.

Likewise, those under 12 years of age, travelling with an adult, will continue to not be subject to any type of health requirement to enter the country.

This amendment does NOT apply to anyone over 18 years old who is not fully vaccinated.

This measure is also in line with the proposal to amend Recommendation (EU) 2020/912 on the temporary restriction of non-essential travel to the EU, which is currently being reviewed.

This Order has been agreed and signed by the Minister of the Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Tourism, and the Ministry of Health.
