There is plenty to choose from across Tenerife, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria this weekend. The programme includes major music festivals, traditional celebrations, outdoor cinema, sporting events and family entertainment from Friday to Sunday.

Tenerife

In Candelaria, the weekend begins with a special waterfront concert at 9.30pm on Friday. International violinist Ara Malikian will perform with the Las Candelas Music Band as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.

The town’s celebrations continue with a free concert by Spanish group Café Quijano on Saturday. Los Cantadores and guest singer Falete will perform on Sunday as the programme builds towards the main feast day on 15th August.

Punta del Hidalgo hosts the 12th Canary Islands International Reggae Festival on Friday and Saturday. The free event is headlined by Mo’Kalamity and Green Valley, with further live performances across both evenings.

In the south, the Sunblast electronic music festival begins at Golf Costa Adeje at 3:00pm on Saturday. The ticketed event features seven stages covering electronic dance music, house, techno, urban music and drum and bass, and admission is restricted to adults.

Lanzarote

Puerto del Carmen continues its summer celebrations this weekend, with live music and entertainment centred around the harbour area. Large crowds are expected, particularly during evening performances, so visitors should arrive early and allow extra time for parking.

The Haría Music Run takes place at La Garita beach in Arrieta on Saturday. Entertainment begins during the evening with DJs, dance sessions and percussion performers before the illuminated races get underway from around 9.30pm, followed by a midnight concert.

San Bartolomé will combine food and live entertainment on Sunday. Its annual tapas event begins at 2:00pm in Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente Park, with several bands performing before a closing DJ set.

The town’s celebrations also include a foam party at 12.30pm on Sunday. Families attending are advised to bring suitable clothing and sun protection.

Gran Canaria

Lomo Magullo, in Telde, is preparing for its popular water festival on Sunday. The main event begins at midday and will be accompanied by the Agaete Band before celebrations continue with live music.

Thousands of people are expected to attend, and anyone taking part should wear suitable footwear and protect phones and valuables from water. Traffic restrictions and limited parking are likely around the village.

Agaete continues its celebrations following the annual branch festival. Saturday brings traditional Canarian music and dancing in the main square from 8:00pm, while Sunday includes children’s entertainment and a Canarian wrestling exhibition.

Firgas offers a weekend of rock, folklore and local traditions. Music events take place on Friday and Saturday, followed by the town’s traditional cart descent through Calvario Street and a youth band concert on Sunday.

Gáldar’s indigenous heritage festival includes crafts, guided archaeological visits, traditional sports and cultural workshops. Saturday’s programme concludes with a concert by Canarian singer Raquel Molina.

El Puertillo beach in Arucas becomes an open-air cinema this weekend, showing How to Train Your Dragon on Friday and Night at the Museum on Saturday.

In the south, the Gran Canaria Summer Craft Fair opens near Maspalomas Lighthouse on Friday and continues until 16th August. San Agustín beach will also host an outdoor fashion show with live music from 8:00pm on Sunday.
