National Police are investigating cyber attacks on nurses and TSJC by ‘anti-vaxxers’

This week Canarian institutions have been the targets of ‘Covid deniers’ with a wave of cyber attacks aimed at health workers, who are doing their job by vaccinating people, the chamber of the TSJC who either endorses or denies restriction requests from the Government, and this week agreed to an extension of the mandatory use of the Covid Certificate, even though they were shouting from the rooftops with glee when they previously said no to the Government.

All this coincides with the latest demonstration against the Government by anti-vaxxers, where only 300 people turned up in La Laguna, which even though it shows what a minority they are in, are still endangering people’s health by not getting vaccinated especially in the case of those affected by previous pathologies whose illnesses are aggravated, sometimes fatally, in the event of contagion by Covid.

The Communication Office of the TSJC has confirmed that the official email account of the Second Section of the Administrative Litigation Chamber at its headquarters in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, was saturated on Thursday morning with more than 500 messages sent by people against the measures adopted for the prevention of the spread of Covid.

It must be taken into account that this Chamber is the one that decides whether or not to legally validate all government measures issued to control the pandemic, taking health and economic concerns into consideration.

The president of the Chamber has presented these facts to the National Police, whose technological crime brigade is carrying out investigations aimed at clarifying the facts and identifying the people who have sent them.

However, this electronic attack is not the only one being investigated by the National Police, who are also busy finding those responsible for the threats and intimidation suffered by a total of 6,339 nurses and auxiliary health workers, who are only doing their job by vaccinating children under 12 years of age against Covid, according to the SCS.

The SCS claims that these employees have received a PDF document in their corporate email accounts with threatening messages regarding the paediatric campaign, signed by two known anti-vax groups: ‘La Asociación Nacional Sovida’ y ‘La Asociación Nacional Leaders Colleague International’.

According to the Telematics Crimes Unit who are leading the investigation, in the massive number of messages sent to these health workers they are being accused of "committing serious crimes against minors under the Penal Code", for which they use arguments widely discredited by science, such as that vaccines given to children under 12 years of age are not safe or that they cause serious and even fatal reactions.

In reality, if minors were not vaccinated, the virus would find an ideal host for its survival, maintaining its presence in our society and, therefore, the havoc it wreaks on it.

The investigation is continuing to find these ‘selfish and uneducated people’, and Police say that those responsible will be charged accordingly for threatening behaviour.
