Motorcyclist dies after falling down hillside in Gran Canaria
A motorcyclist has died after falling down a hillside in the municipality of Telde, Gran Canaria, on Saturday evening. The tragic accident occurred on Calle Arolas, according to a report from the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) 112.
The emergency services received the alert just after 7:00 pm, after witnesses reported that a motorcyclist had gone off the road and fallen down a slope, requiring urgent assistance.
Paramedics from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) rushed to the area and attempted to assist the rider, but despite their efforts, they were forced to confirm his death due to the severity of his injuries.
Firefighters were also called to the scene to help emergency teams reach the victim’s location on the steep terrain, while Local Police officers took charge of the accident report. Agents from the Canary Islands Police also assisted in the operation.
This latest tragedy adds to a pattern of disturbing incidents on Canary Island roads this year, where already two other motorcycle deaths have been recorded: a 51-year-old rider killed in January on Avenida Palm-Mar, Tenerife, and another rider who died in April on the GC-200 in La Aldea de San Nicolás, Gran Canaria.
