Mercadona, one of Spain’s leading supermarket chains, is offering new job opportunities across its stores in the Canary Islands, with contracts ranging from part-time shifts to full-time positions and salaries of up to €2,280 per month.
The company is recruiting checkout staff and other roles with no previous experience required, offering paid training and indefinite contracts from the start.
Vacancies are available in different supermarkets across the islands, allowing residents in various municipalities to apply without the need for long commutes.
Part-time contracts
The most flexible option is a 15-hour weekly contract, usually over two days, with a starting salary of €632 that can rise to €855 per month. Mercadona also offers 20-hour contracts, split across three or five days a week with fixed or rotating shifts, with salaries ranging from €843 to €1,140. These options are particularly attractive for students or those balancing work with family or other commitments.
Full-time opportunities
For those seeking more stability, 40-hour weekly contracts are also on offer, spread across five days with morning and afternoon shifts. These positions start at €1,685 per month and can reach up to €2,280, with the same conditions applied to warehouse and logistics roles.
Application process
Applications are handled exclusively online through Mercadona’s Employment Portal, where candidates must register, upload their CV, and apply directly for vacancies of interest. The system also allows applicants to track the status of their applications and update their personal details at any time.
Mercadona, led by president Juan Roig, has long emphasised job security and career growth, with most of its contracts offered on an indefinite basis and a strong focus on internal training.
