The Canary Islands can look forward to a largely dry and settled Thursday, with mostly clear skies across the archipelago, according to today’s forecast from AEMET.
Some cloud cover is expected early in the day, but this will give way to sunnier spells as the morning progresses. Winds will generally be light, occasionally moderate in some areas, and temperatures are set to remain steady with little to no change.
At sea, north-easterly winds of force 3 to 5 are expected, occasionally increasing to force 6 in some areas. There will be moderate seas with slight conditions in places, along with a north-westerly swell of between two and four metres.
Across the islands, easterly to north-easterly winds will dominate, mostly light but occasionally moderate in exposed areas, but, overall, it will be a pleasant and settled day across the islands — ideal weather for residents and visitors to enjoy the outdoors.
Island-by-island forecast for Thursday 12th February 2026:
Tenerife
Cloudy intervals are expected in the north and east below 600–800 metres, clearing to brighter conditions during the middle of the day. The rest of the island will see mostly clear skies, apart from some cloud along western coasts. Temperatures will remain largely unchanged. Light east to north-easterly winds will prevail, influenced by local sea breezes, strengthening to moderate north-westerlies with occasional strong intervals later.
Temperature range: Low of 18°C and a high of 24°C.
Gran Canaria
In the north and east, below 600–700 metres, cloudy intervals will give way to sunnier spells at midday. Elsewhere, skies will be mostly clear. Temperatures will remain steady or fall slightly. Moderate east to north-easterly winds are forecast, with occasional strong gusts in exposed low-lying areas of the west and south-east early on. Winds will shift to a moderate north-north-westerly direction by the end of the day. Sea breezes are expected along the south-west coast.
Temperature range: Low of 17°C and a high of 22°C.
Lanzarote
Cloudy intervals are forecast, particularly during the early morning and late evening, with clearer skies during the middle of the day. Temperatures will remain stable or dip slightly. Moderate north-easterly winds will ease into a northerly direction later, with sea breezes along southern coasts.
Temperature range: Low of 16°C and a high of 23°C.
Fuerteventura
Similar conditions are expected, with cloudier skies early and late in the day and brighter intervals during daylight hours. Temperatures will see little change or a slight drop. Moderate north-easterly winds will turn northerly by the evening.
