387 kilos of cocaine found in Tenerife in a van on a ship from Brazil
Agents of the Guardia Civil in collaboration with Members of the Tax Agency, have seized 387 kilos of cocaine in the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife with a street value of over 23 million euros, after conducting an inspection inside a truck that was travelling on a ship from Brazil.
The Ministry of the Interior has reported that the drugs were found on a Grimaldi ship, which was sailing from Santos in Brazil heading for Antwerp in Belgium, which docked last Friday (February 19th) at the port of Santa Cruz.
During the inspection, agents found the drugs inside a bathtub of the trucks, where a series of packages suspected of containing narcotic substances were observed. The packages consisted of twelve waterproof suitcases, inside which 356 tablets were detected, which were positive in a cocaine test, according to their official statement.
The drugs have been seized and taken into custody, as has the driver of the truck who is currently part of a police and tax agency investigation.
