Yellow weather warning ends today as winds subside throughout day
At 9.00am this morning, Sunday, the State Meteorology Agency (AEMET) will end the yellow warning due to strong winds, which has seen gusts recorded at 84km/h in Izaña (Tenerife) yesterday morning, an 80km/h in Alto de Igualero, in the Gomeran municipality of Vallehermoso, and in Las Tirajanas, in the midlands of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, at 1.30pm.
There have also been winds over 70km/h on the peaks, east, south and west slopes of Gran Canaria and Tenerife, on the summits of La Palma and on La Gomera and El Hierro. This brings an end to a new episode of strong winds that once again exceeded AEMET's forecasts for yesterday.
