Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura start Level 3 from today
Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura begin today at alert Level 3 (red traffic light), while the rest of the islands continue at the same Levels of last week, that is, Lanzarote at Level 2 and La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro, at Level 1. The constant and continuous increase in infections and the incidence in various indicators forced the Canary Islands Government to increase the Level of these three Islands to try to reverse the situation.
At Level 3, the entry and exit of people to the island is restricted, except for justified causes in any of the reasons in article 6 of Royal Decree 926/2020, of October 25. In the event that anyone is travelling without one of these reasons, they will be fined and have to pay for a Covid test.
In addition, alert Level 3 limits the freedom of movement of people at night, establishing a curfew between 10pm and 6am every day, again with only legislated exceptions, which do now include food delivery until midnight.
It is also established that people meeting in both public and private spaces, indoors or outdoors, is limited to four individuals, except for cohabitants. People are reminded that cohabitants are people that live together, NOT family or friends from other addresses.
In bars, restaurants, hotels and catering, the maximum number of four people per table will be respected, complete closure to the public before 10pm, and the prohibition of service in interior areas (tables, bar or self-service), except in tourist accommodation for exclusive use for guests, plus health centres and work centres for the consumption by their staff.
At alert Level 3 it is NOT permitted to exceed 50% of the authorized capacity on outdoor terraces. Only table service is allowed, people are only allowed to eat or drink at their table.
In these outdoor spaces of the establishment, activities that lead to crowds or not maintaining interpersonal safety distance or not wearing masks, such as parties, dances, karaoke, contests, concerts, live or background music that invite dancing, singing or interaction are prohibited.

A change in the regulation allows sports activities in gyms on Level 3, but with a maximum capacity of 33%, maintaining a distance of 2 metres (including a personal trainer, no sparring or similar), use of masks, and groups of four people maximum, including monitors/instructors.
Public shows, which can be either recreational, leisure activities, including sports, that take place sporadically and in places other than the establishments used for the usual exercise of said activity, are prohibited, as well as parties, festivals and other popular events, and the convocation of acts, processions, celebrations or any other event that incites the uncontrolled meeting of people.
Attendance at places of worship will not exceed 33% of the capacity in closed spaces at alert Level 3, recommending offering services remotely or by television.
In the regular urban and metropolitan public land transport of passengers, in the islands in Level 3 their capacity is reduced to 50% and surveillance will be reinforced at peak times to avoid agglomerations of users.
