Storm Filomena has affected the western islands and Gran Canaria the most, leaving problems on many roads, and some closed, with the Emergency Services advising people to travel with caution today.

The GC-607 in Gran Canaria has been closed this morning due to landslides and debris on the road close to km8, as has the GC-605 both in the summit municipality of Tejeda.

Cabildo workers are already working on site with tractors and heavy machinery to restore normality during the day, and citizens are asked to be careful and avoid going to the summit as the worst of the storm is still tom come with more strong winds and rain later today.

The Coordinating Centre for Emergencies and Safety (CECOES) informs that, given the wind alerts in place, other incidents related to landslides, obstacles in the road and falling power lines are being recorded in La Palma, La Gomera, Tenerife and other parts of Gran Canaria.

In Tenerife, a low voltage power line has also fallen in Guía de Isora, there are obstacles on the Buenavista and San Miguel roads, and landslides in Granadilla.
