Man arrested in Adeje with 500 'Winstrol' pills and other steroids ready for sale
The National Police have arrested a 33-year-old man in Adeje in the south of Tenerife, in possession of various illegal anabolic steroids used in sports which had been prepared for sale, as reported by the National Police in a press release.
The man was arrested on Saturday in Avenida de Bruselas in Fañabe, as when he approached a police control point who were carrying out standard anti-Covid checks, he pulled over and stopped before the police check point and parked in a disabled parking space, staying in the car at the wheel, apparently to evade the police.
Because he raised their suspicions, officers approached the car and proceeded to identify the man, who was acting very nervously, so they did a quick search of his car whilst there. Subsequently, the agents found numerous blister packs of drugs, some of them anabolic, as well as other illegal substances apparently intended for sale and use in sports, hidden inside the vehicle.
In total, the agents confiscated more than 500 'Winstrol' tablets in containers and blister packs, 18 bottles of injectable ‘medicines’, 3 mobile phones, and 380 euros in cash.
Without a credible explanation for the possession of these substances, and the other concurrent circumstances, the National Police officers detained the man, who doesn’t have a previous criminal record, and took him to the police station in Las Americas together with the drugs, substances and money. The detainee, together with his statement was passed over to the competent judicial authority for sentencing.
