Level 4 restrictions are updated to reduce impact on the hospitality industry

In last 24 hours the Government of the Canary Islands has modified the regulations in Level 4 corresponding to the hospitality industry, due to the change in the evolution of the pandemic, and to reduce the economic impact on bars, restaurants and cafes should one of the islands be moved in to taht alert level.

Yesterday the regional president, Ángel Víctor Torres, said that "logic" points to the fact that if coronavirus infections continue to rise on the island of Tenerife, they will have no option but to put the island into level 4 restrictions, even though it is currently at a reinforced level 3.

He emphasized that data from Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday is key to see if the restrictions adopted are giving the necessary results to be able to contain, along with vaccination, the pandemic.

The updates for Level 4 includes the following:

- Outdoor terraces with a maximum of 75% of the allowed capacity, with a maximum of 6 people per table.

- As for the interior of premises, they can open with 40% of the capacity (raised to 50% in the event that a minimum of 10% of users have the complete vaccination schedule). The number of diners per table is limited to 4 if not vaccinated, and 6 if they are vaccinated, identified by the Covid Certificate. All clients must register their name, NIE, and contact number in case of outbreaks.

- Bar consumption is authorized in groups of two people and in a designated space.

- With food: Buffet and self-service indoors are prohibited, and can only be done outdoors.

- Complete closure of the establishment at 6:00pm and takeaway service at the premises before 10:00pm.
