New €100 million resort with 20 pools to open in Corralejo

A major new four-star resort with 478 rooms and more than 20 swimming pools is set to open in Corralejo, Fuerteventura, this autumn following an investment of almost €100 million.

The Elba Corralejo Resort & Spa is scheduled to welcome its first guests on 1st November. Covering around 60,000 square metres, it will become one of the largest holiday resorts in the north of the island.

Located in the municipality of La Oliva, the hotel will add almost 500 rooms to Corralejo's accommodation market. The popular resort town is one of Fuerteventura's main tourist destinations and is close to the famous Corralejo dunes and beaches.

Of its 478 rooms, 52 will have direct access to a swimming pool, while 15 junior suites will have their own private pool and sun terrace.

The resort has been designed to cater for both families and adults looking for quieter surroundings, with separate areas and facilities aimed at different types of holidaymakers.

Families will have access to a children's water and activity park covering more than 4,000 square metres, including sports areas and water play facilities. Entertainment will also include activities for different age groups and live shows.

Adults will have access to quieter areas alongside a spa and gym, with activities including yoga, Pilates and fitness classes.

Swimming pools will be a major feature of the complex, with more than 20 planned throughout the grounds. These will include outdoor pools and river-style pools running through different parts of the resort, alongside landscaped gardens, restaurants and leisure areas.

The hotel is approximately 900 metres from the centre of Corralejo, 1.5 kilometres from the beach and around two kilometres from the Corralejo dunes.

The development is also expected to provide a huge boost to local employment. More than 300 direct jobs are expected to be created, with recruitment already underway for positions in reception, restaurants, kitchens, housekeeping, maintenance, administration, the spa and entertainment teams.
