The lava flow from the La Palma volcano reached the coast of Tazacorte at 11.03pm tonight (Tuesday), as captured in live images from a boat by Television Canarias. Right now the images are distant because a security perimeter for safety has been established to avoid the harmful gases that the lava creates when it comes in contact with the seawater.
The lava has reached the coast in the form of a waterfall tumbling 100 metres over a cliff into the sea by Los Guirres beach after increasing it's speed over the last few hours, with onlookers saying they heard what sounded like a large explosion. Experts in the area are already studying what effect it will have on the flora and fauna at this point of the Atlantic.

It is important to remember that the residents of the municipalities of La Condesa, Marina Alta, Marina Baja and San Borondón must remain confined to their homes to avoid the harmful gases that can affect people's health.
